Vehicle | 1983 Porsche 911 SC Cabriolet |
Motor | Netgain Warp11 Series Wound DC DC Motor WebPage |
Drivetrain | clutchless 5 speed manual transmission |
Controller | Curtis 1231c-8601 Rated for 96-144 Volts, 500 AMP max & 2 Min ratings, 1 hour rated at 225 AMPS Two External cooling fans have been added to this air cooled unit. |
Batteries | 16 Interstate multiple, 12.00 Volt, Lead-Acid, Flooded 2 banks of marine deep cycle batteries, 8 upfront where gas tank used to be, and 8 in the back saddle slung 4 on either side of the motor. |
System Voltage | 96 Volts |
Charger | Quick Charge There are two on board, one in front and one in back allowing charge time to be reduced when two AC circuits are available. Both plug in to a standard 110V outlet. |
DC/DC Converter | None at this time, instead a separate onboard 120VAC to 12VDC charger is on board. |
Top Speed | 65 MPH (104 KPH) Grossly under-powered at 96 volts given potential of Warp11 motor. Am looking at options for rectifying this. Considering LiFePO4 battery pack upgrade to 144-156 volts with capacity to go 300 miles on single charge, AND changing controller to a something more appropriate. Would prefer an air cooled option otherwise first choice would be a Zilla as like the one in our other EV. |
Seating Capacity | 2+2 (2 seats up front and two fold away "jump seats" in the back). |
