Top Speed | 80 MPH (128 KPH) A good charge and maybe a rolling start. I have no problem holding 70mph. Its a flooded lead acid car. what do you want? With a full pack of batteries she pulls nice in second gear and gets me around good.
Range | 25 Miles (40 Kilometers)
Watt Hours/Mile | 450 Wh/Mile at 120 volts it takes 200 amps to maintain most higher speeds; 55+. under 55mph i can get closer to 100a and ~120v: 14kw. I keep most hills to 300-400 amps and see 100 volts.

I cant believe I have put nearly 18k miles on this beast. 2/3 of that through less then 10 different 120 volt electrical outlets around town. I absolutely beat the batteries up and drove with them dry so many times. Using the US Battery specs I estimate the original set of PbA's should have lasted from 12k-17k miles. I got the low side but im still happy. That's saving roughly 600-750 gallons of 87 octane based on 20-25mpg. Considering most of my driving is city or stop go, I'm saving on the higher side. I'm pretty happy to have cut my teeth on this car. Everything has broken at least once. Kick Gas Coop built this car in one of the local San Diego Workshops we host. |
