Vehicle | 1974 Porsche 914 EV Alaska Blue Metallic after I spent 2 years restoring it. While putting it back together I bought another '74 as an example of what went where... That was 11 years ago, I've had several more 914's since, but still have the first...
Motor | Azure Dynamics/Solectria AC-24 3-Phase AC Azure Dynamics
Drivetrain | Light Vehicle AC kit from ElectroAutomotive, basically their AC 914 kit minus the stiffer springs, torsion bars, battery boxes and body graphics. Built my own battery racks, already upgraded brakes and torsion bars.

Instrumentation | 115-175 Volt Gauge, was ordered, what I got was a SOC gauge that pegs out at only 164V... +250 -250 Amp gauge E-Meter (Xantrex XBM)Needs to go, only reads to 133V... 250 Volt AC meter (next to AC input) 50 Amp AC meter (next to AC input) 300 VDC meter (next to charger) 50 Amp DC meter (next to charger)
Top Speed | 70 MPH (112 KPH) Hopefully. 70 will be enough

One fun car! I've had this one about fifteen years, it's going on eight years as a daily driver after restoring the body and paint, rubber, glass, etc. It was leaking so much oil, and after seeing Otmar's CAPOPPY, and a VoltsPorsche once before, I decided to convert... Up date, it's STILL leaking oil, just not as much. I went to put the motor in and found a puddle at the rear end of the speedometer cable... I hope to finish this year! (2013) |
