Conversion Cost$350 purchase price. $275 to have motor rebuilt. $250 for the motor controller. $1000 for my mechanic (and counting). $100 for the PBS. $36 for the turn signal switch $200 for the electrical inlet with new wiring. $250+ for assorted parts. The batteries ended up making me money - I bought some surplus floor scrubbers and took the batteries out and then sold the rest for a profit.
Additional FeaturesUSB connector in the dash that is wired into the Alltrax controller (ok, so I AM a geek). New lights.
This car has been fun to work on (most of the time) but I ended up having to replace almost everything even though I thought it was in fairly good shape to start with. With the time and the money that I have into this car, I could have bought a more complete Citicar and saved myself some headaches (and had a car with a better body), but I have "rescued" this car and have learned a lot. I couldn't have done this without Bob - my mechanic.
