Building a tribute to this American Choppers S06E15 Siemens Smart Chopper from the ground up using a ProTube frame and making a few improvements: 168 volt Li-Poly batteries not 72 volt lead-acid; 100 HP Advanced DC 9" 144 volt motor; an on-board 6.6kw charger; and finally, lots more chrome.

Top speed can only be approximated since this is a work in progress. The motor max RPM is 7,000 but max torque is at 3,400 so sprocket ratio of 3.69:1 has peak power output, 220hp, arrive at 130 mph.

SWAG: 300 miles. This is only a guess since it is a work in progress. We're using Nissan Leaf sized motor and 27.2 kWh of power, but with 600 pounds instead of 3,400. That's 5 times less weight, and less than half of the frontal area. A Leaf gets 100 miles on a charge. That is around 270 watts per mile. A Tesla Model S routinely uses 345 watts per mile at 5,000 pounds using my lead foot. If we can use around 90 watts per mile that will let us get almost 300 miles per charge. That compares to the Model S Tesla with 85 kWh with a 300 mile range.
