The lack of suspension made for a bit of a rough ride, but still a blast to ride. Turns heads everywhere I go, esp when I am powering up the hill at 30Km/h. I recently moved the battery from the rear rack to a backpack which changed the weight distribution greatly. It still has a tendency to want to wheelie if you hit the throttle too hard from a standing start, but not nearly as bad as before. also bumps aren't quite as bad with my knees absorbing a lot of the bumps. The rear rack was taking a beating with the heavy 20ah pack on it The rear hub motor came with a multi speed cassette, but the bike originally came with a 3 speed internally geared hub. When I swapped it out, there was no factory provision for a derailer, so I just picked a good gear and made it a single speed on the pedals. It is in the equivalent of 14th gear. |
