Top Speed27 MPH (43 KPH)
I have a Megarange freewheel sprocket on the back wheel. The smallest gear has 11 teeth. My bottom bracket contains two gears. One is 50 tooth and the other is 39 tooth. With the gearing I have, this allows the bike to have a top speed of 23 mph without pedalling. However as you will see in my YouTube video I have achieved 27 mph with a slight downhill grade and a light wind to my back. Normal cruising is around 18 mph.
AccelerationVery fast if in the lowest gear, used for climbing.
Range12 Miles (19 Kilometers)
I have tested the 18Ah batteries over a variety of road conditions and wind, and 12 miles seems to be the average with little or no pedalling. I can increase the range by pedalling.
Curb Weight70 Pounds (31 Kilograms)
The bike itself weighs around 44 pounds, and the batteries weigh 26 pounds.
Tires20 x 1.75. I have a Cruiser Tire on the back.
Conversion TimeOne week
Conversion Cost$270 not including the bike. (See comments below for details)
Additional FeaturesThis bike has a freewheel crank system attached. This allows the motor to spin the chain without the pedals spinning at the same time. I also have the option of pedalling with or without the motor.

Check out my Youtube video to see this in action! Click on 'Webpage' above next to my email address. This is for my old setup, which has only one front sprocket which is 44 teeth, and the motor drive sprocket had 36 teeth. This gave slight faster speeds but with less power. My current gear setup better matches the powerband of the motor and gives me more gear options for different riding conditions.

***UPDATE***

This bike now has 14 speeds with the addition of the two front sprockets. The slowest speed is for climbing, and I can maintain 5mph up 16% grades without pedalling. Watch this YouTube video to see it climb up a 16% grade and to see this update: WebPage
