I pulled this bike out of the weeds, and recreated it with a twist.
MotorMars etek-RT Permanent Magnet DC
the big one
Drivetrain72 volts , 6:1 gear ratio
ControllerAlltrax 7234
programmable one
Batteries6 Interstate MEGATRON (old name) deep cycle SRM24, 12.00 Volt, Lead-Acid, Flooded
wet style lead sled, most bang for the buck, and nice and dangerous too,(not really)

Remember when motorcycles were supposed to be dangerous?
System Voltage72 Volts
ChargerSchumacher SE-1072
charges all of my bikes, never complains
DC/DC ConverterQuda not sure
not in yet
Instrumentationnone what so ever
Top Speed60 MPH (96 KPH)
still testing...should do over 60 easy
Accelerationit wants to wheelie, so I think that is good
Range40 Miles (64 Kilometers)
still testing, it is getting cold here, 40+ in the cold is not fun, unless you are headed somewhere warm
EV Miles
Current:20 Miles (32 Kilometers)

    As of 10/4/2009
Seating Capacity1 adult, I only ride solo. If my wife wants to come, I'll build her a bike.
Curb Weight500 Pounds (227 Kilograms)
have not taken it to weigh, but it aint light
Conversion TimeIt took a while as I fabricated the saddle bags, and tank by hand, with a grinder no less. I have had the bike for a year or so, probably put about 2 months into it
Conversion Costprob $4000 in parts at least, not sure I want to know, prob $6000 in labor
Additional Featuresthere is room in the bags for storage too which is nice, maybe a jacket or two, rain gear, gloves, some tools,a crowbar(not to be used as a weapon). the pipes are actually tunnels for the battery wires to run from the bags to the motor/batteries. The back of the bags on the inside is acrylic, and the pipes are PVC, so I don't have power wires + & - running through metal. I also think they finish it off nicely. My goal with all my bikes is to tribute retro styling, and to confuse the hell out of onlookers. I am not into the "plastic spaceships". Although I appreciate modern design, enough people in this industry are slaughtering that model. I am a student of the classics, and intend to revive those styles in my builds.
Building these bikes is fun. I am building an old police trike next, and it is a big project. It will be the nicest bike I have built to date, I also have a rigid bobber, some small enduro's and a complete custom ground up coming up next. That outta take me through winter.
