Vehicle | 1958 Triumph TR10 Better known in England as a Standard 10 Sedan. Imported by the Standard-Triumph Motor Co. of NY under the Triumph TR10 badge through 1960.
Motor | General Electric 5BC49JB1127 Series Wound DC Rated at 133amps for 1 hour. It's taken well over 300amps for short blasts.
Drivetrain | This car originally came with a 948cc 4 cylinder OHV single carburetor engine with a 4 speed transmission. When I purchased it in 2004 it had been modified and fitted with a 1962 1147cc Spitfire dual SU equipped engine and drive train. Eventualy it started running poorly and leaking gas and oil like most used up British engines of that era. It was covered and parked in my back yard driveway for a few years until the conversion. Now the DC motor couples directly to the trans input shaft.

Top Speed | 55 MPH (88 KPH) Flat out on level road it will do 55 according to my GPS but with better gearing it should go faster.
Acceleration | 0 to 30 in about 5 seconds. Not exactly a race car.
