Vehicle | 1973 Auranthetic Charger Found this little gem while buying a Tote Goat mini bike. Bike has been in dry storage for many years, she is in good condition. Owner said batteries are gone, but I'm going to charge them anyway to see if there is any life. On a side note, I am building an electric Honda 500 Shadow with a direct shaft drive, no chain. My Advanced DC K91-4003 motor arrived just yesterday (8.26.08). |
Motor | KDB Permanent Magnet DC KDB Permanent Magnet 1 HP 24 Volt |
Drivetrain | Chain drive with a KDB Permanent Magnet 1 HP 24 Volt motor |
Controller | Whatever Auranthetic uses, I suspect it's a solenoid setup using one then two batteries. |
Batteries | 2 group 27 rv deep cycle, 12.00 Volt, Lead-Acid, Flooded |
System Voltage | 24 Volts |
Charger | Soneil Soneil 1206S 10/05/08 Added a pair of Soneil Superchargers to better take care of the batteries. Original charger (Transformer & pair of Diodes) would cook the batteries. You could hear them boiling in the morning ! |
Heater | Hot air in July, frosted air December !!! |
Instrumentation | Cheapo ammeter |
Top Speed | 25 MPH (40 KPH) per online info I have found |
Range | 50 Miles (80 Kilometers) Again this is from Auranthetic documentation, sound way too high. |
Seating Capacity | 1 adult |
Curb Weight | 210 Pounds (95 Kilograms) |
Tires | 3:50/10 |
Conversion Cost | Can't say, wife might find out ;-) |
I'm very interested in any information other may have about the Auranthetic Charger. Plan to restore and add a modern controller. Here is a nice web page about the Auranthetic Charger electric motorcycle: WebPage |
