Just an old riding mower with a B&S 8HP
engine behind/under the driver. We found
it abandoned in a neighbors yard.

Nice 36V series motor taken from an old 3-
wheel golf cart. I cleaned it up, replaced
the bearings, and painted it.

Top Speed8 MPH (12 KPH)
Lawn mower speed. a bit faster than
walking speed, perhaps a slow jog at
fastest. Down to a slow crawl.
Accelerationlike a lawn mower I suppose!
RangeI expect over an hour mow time.
Seating Capacity1 adult, sometimes a child who loves going
for a ride!
TiresFront: Turf Saver 11x4.00-4
Rear: Turf Saver 16x6.50-8

I put tubes in them. The tires are old and
leak air, though the tread is ok.
Conversion Costcharger: $96
motor: $60 (motor, bearings, paint)
controller: $5 (wire)
misc: $30 (cable, lugs, belt, bolts,
etc)
batteries: $209
plow: free from scraps
I'm into it about $500 I guess. Wow,
that adds up! But the enjoyment is
priceless!
Additional Features-Re-covered the seat
-Outdoor carpet in foot area
-New paint all over
-utility trailer
-Built a snow plow/dozer blade
-working to add 3-point hitch, possibly hydraulic.

(27Aug11)
-added a 12V winch to the back.
-winch primarily pulls a sleeve hitch up and down.
-remade the main drive pulley. The original one I made was
eating the belt because it was too small.
Mostly just a fun project to tinker with. Always in
progress. Now I have the mower deck working, I'd like to add
a bag or mulch, and I'm working on a 3-point hitch for
stuff. (27Aug11) Abandoned the 3-point hitch idea and
installed a sleeve hitch.
