Conversion Time | I did most of it during my eight week summer vacation.
Conversion Cost | Car- $400, EV Conversion $6,700, Batteries $1,865
Additional Features | I modified the front of the car to provide more room for the batteries and to increase aerodynamics. That was not something in the original plan. However, when I ran out of room for the front batteries, it was a good solution to the problem. The front spoiler is made of sheet metal over the original bumper.
The car has worked perfectly as a commuter car. I got my EV parts from Bob Batson of EV America. He did a fantastic job of providing advice when it was needed. Their great webpage will help you get started. |
