BugE progress is complete. Latest update is: I had a 2-door hatchback with a V6 gasoline engine getting 18 MPG, and when the cost to fill the tank hit $50.00, I wanted an alternative. I have recently purchased the Fiat, so fuel savings is no longer an issue. I would sell for $2500.00. Another option is to donate to 501(c) (3) Non-Profit and take the tax write-off. One thought I had was some High school or College automotive or Green / Solar Electrical class and have it be a project to upgrade from current 48 volt Lead Acid battery system to a Lithium Battery system which would decrease weight and increase range. I would also be willing to donate $500.00 in cash to assist in purchasing components if a deal were worked out with a Non-Profit providing a receipt to allow me to take a reasonable write-off. One problem is coming up with a legitimate Blue Book Value for a vehicle of this type. Vehicle is licensed, insured, and can be test-driven by a serious interested party. I had minor cosmetic shipping damage to fiberglass body, but have not yet looked for a fiberglass shop to repair inexpensively. I am successfully commuting to work and back without recharging (16.4 miles round trip). Vehicle is now fully licensed (CHP assigned a VIN #) |
