Owner | Bryan McKinney |
---|---|
Location | Blanco, Texas United States map |
Vehicle | 1947 Cushman Road King This is a little project I turned out last summer. It has been so much fun that I have decided to build another for my wife. |
Motor | EVT Series Wound DC 2000 watt hub motor capable of approx 45 at 48 volts |
Drivetrain | Cushman |
Controller | Alltrax |
Batteries | 4, 12.00 Volt, Lead-Acid, AGM 35 amp hour |
System Voltage | 48 Volts |
Charger | 18 amp 48 volt golf cart charger |
Heater | Blinding Texas sun. |
DC/DC Converter | Sevcon |
Instrumentation | light switch, antique mechanical horn, foot brake |
Top Speed | 45 MPH (72 KPH) speed is totally dependent on voltage. I can supposedly go up to 72 volts safely. But the bike is not safe above about 45 mph |
Acceleration | regulated through Alltrax controller |
Range | 10 Miles (16 Kilometers) I have personally tested it in my neighborhood and got 12 miles out of it before a noticeable discharge. It was hard driving through a hilly area. I expect 30 miles on flat ground |
Watt Hours/Mile | 2880 Wh/Mile I was told by the manufacturer that it used 60 amps full throttle on flat ground. I have not verified this yet. It is hard to hold a laptop and drive a bike at the same time. |
Seating Capacity | 2 adults |
Curb Weight | 300 Pounds (136 Kilograms) |
Tires | 4-8.00. Thats right, you heard me. The same tire on your wheel barrow |
Conversion Time | 60 days roughly |
Conversion Cost | $5500 |
Everything looks original for a 1947 Cushman on the outside. Everything from the throttle to the tail lamp. The only noticeable difference is the batteries are visible from where the kick starter used to be, and the fact that it is silent running. |
